DANCING WITH DEMONS BOOK LAUNCH

Since the publication of my latest book, I’ve moved to a small town in the South of France. As a town, Cessenon-sur-Orb has everything you need to enjoy life in full (supermarket, bakeries, butchers, cafes, restaurants, winery, church, boulodrome, bicycle club, etc) – well, almost – as there’s no bookstore. For an author and bibliophile that’s sorely missed – not at least when you plan to launch a new book (as you may recall, I used to launch my books at the American Book Centre in Amsterdam).

Fortunately, like in most French towns, there’s a professional-run Mediathéque (media library) making available to the public media in all formats for on-site consultation and home borrowing. As a cultural establishment, it is of course an ideal location for a book launch  – or ‘lancement du livre’, as they say in French.

Dancing with Demons, a novella inspired by true events, is the story of Jack. He has it all. A sought-after job as an accomplished journalist at a national newspaper, a home in a desirable part of town, the love of a young wife, and a devoted son. He also has a serious alcohol and drug addiction that threatens to take everything, putting his very survival in jeopardy.

The book will be launched at the Mediathéque Jean Ferret (8 Rue des Saignes / Cessenon-sur-Orb) on Friday the 13th of  September from 17.00. I hope you’ll come along to get a signed copy of the book and enjoy some of the local wine and snacks. If you cannot make it on the day, the book will be available from Amazon (Hardback / Paperback / Kindle).
